They get smaller: The only way that you could get atrophy of the testes from a surgical procedure is if the artery to the testicles is compromised. The testicular artery comes off of the artery to the kidneys, runs down to the groin behind the lining of the abdomen then descends through a canal into the scrotum and thence to the testicle. Both arteries would have to be injured to have both testicles atrophy.
