Anytime: You should be good to get it done. Happy the child did well- and while this is a tough start, there is still nothing like a baby.

Soon: Suggest you ask baby's cardiologist if it is now safe for your baby to undergo testicle & hernia surgery, he should be after successful vsd repair. !0-months-of-age is an optimal time for pediatric urologist or surgeon to correct undescended testes. Majority of babies with undescended testes also have inguinal hernias which are both corrected at same time. 2 sides may be staged if scrotum is tiny.
