Wisdom tooth ?: This may be your maxillary wisdom tooth that is super-erupting. Your mandibular tooth is delayed or impacted. See a dentist asap to be evaluated and have the tooth extracted if necessary. The longer you wait, the more it will erupt, to the point where you will not be able to fully close your mouth due to the pain and swelling. Call today for an appointment.

Evolution: Teeth want to erupt and drift forward to compensate for the wear our shone-aged ancestors gave their teeth. Our modern refined diet causes much less wear. If there is no opposing tooth in either jaw, over eruption is very common. Please see your dentist for a "fix.".

Wisdom Tooth: Based on your age, sounds like an erupting wisdom tooth. See DDS or better oral surgeon for advice and treatment.
