Seek treatment: First of all see your family doctor to make sure that there is no physical cause for panic and the depression that you are experiencing. Your family doctor should refer you to a psychiatrist for further evaluation and treatment and also to a psychologist for psychotherapy for cognitive behavioral therapy. Treatment consists generally of an antidepressantthat also has an anti-panic effect and short-term use of benzodiazepine medication to get the panic under immediate control and then to taper down off of it while the antidepressant takes overwith the help of psychotherapy. Best wishes and i hope you're feeling better for the holiday season.
