See a pediatrician: A twelve week old baby that is ill should be seen and examined by a pediatrician, not diagnosed and treated by its parents. Babies of this age can become critically ill very quickly and since am not sure what you mean by a "cold"and why you want to give him something this should be determined by direct exam. Go and protect him. Good luck.
