Nasal saline/neb: If you son has wheezing with colds and you were prescribed albuterol by nebulization to use if he is coughing, wheezing, breathing faster than usual, then it is okay to give the treatment. If he has a history of wheezing, please follow up with his doctor. Monitoring his temperature and ensuring good fluid intake is also advised. The use of nasal saline for infants is useful to remove mucus.

?cold?: The first months baby has narrow nasal passages & exposure to dust, fragrences, smoke & other irritants aggravate this.Baby tries to flush these out of the nose with mucous but this often ends as congestion & produces rattling with breathing. The best rx is washing out the nose with saline & suctioning the remainder. Nebulizer Rx should only be considered after doc assessment for wheezing.
