A member asked:

What happens if i die can i donate my pancreas to my little brother?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Hi. I hate to make assumptions, but I take it we are to assume your little brother has type 1 diabetes. In general, pancreas transplants are only done if a kidney is also being transplanted for kidney failure, although that is certainly not an absolute. It would depend on the circumstances of your death, your underlying health status, etc. Tight control (e.g., with a CGM) trumps immunosuppression
