Just above normal: An elevated ESR is an indication of inflammation some where in the body. The inflammation may be due to infection or non-infecious causes such as arthritis, lupus, colitis etc. See this site for more info. http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/sedimentation-rate.
