Have a plan: You should understand your asthma at this point. You and your pcp should have a written plan that you can refer to detailing how you deal with day to day issues as well as periodic flare ups. You should understand the difference between maintenance meds and rescue meds and how to use them. You should also know when to seek urgent care if problems are increasing.
