Deserves Ur respect: Asthma can go through periods of relative stability off meds & people vary in the intensity of their asthma. You need to have an action plan in place that would keep you out of trouble if something sets off an event. Your lungs are likely more sensitive than others with weather changes & colds. Having a low dose inhaled steroid to use when you develop a cough & a rescue inhaler for problems is wise.

Ssthma: It would cause low grade inflammation, a change in the shape of your airways for the worse and could lead to emphysema is you avoid being treated while suffering from asthma.
