Depends on origin: Of tongue swelling. If tumor, needs to be biopsied. If trauma from biting and woulds have been repaired swelling should be over in a week usually.

Swollen tongue: Need more information here. What is your tongue swollen from? Allergic reaction? Benadryl (diphenhydramine). A bite? Anti-inflammatories and analgesics for pain. Have it looked at asap, especially if from an unknown origin.
