Bleeding: Pressure usually works , with a sterile gauze. If the bleeding won't stop either present to an er or your podiatrist's office. You didn't mention any meds like coumadin, (warfarin) so that may be a factor . Good luck.

Compression: Elevation and ice. (bandage it as well). If its that deep though you should have it checked out and you may need a tetanus shot depending on how it happened.
