It should not : It should not be bleeding for that long. You need to see a podiatrist asap, you may have an infection, or the nail may have torn from its attachments to the nail bed. Wash twice daily with alcohol, cover with bandaid, making sure the nail is held still and pressed against nailbed.

See apodiatrist: You need to have the toe checked. If the nail was removed this should heal quickly if still bleeding you may have an infection or there still may be a piece of nail in the skin.

Sounds like an: Ingrown toenail with a pyogenic granuloma. You will need a partial nail removal likely with possible cautery of granuloma if one is present. See a podiatrist.
