Hairy Leukoplakia: Primary cause may be epstein-barr virus (ebv), although excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, chewing tobacco, chronic irritation, combination of these factors may play a role. I hope you are seeing an oral surgeon for evaluation, monitoring and possible biopsy.
