See Prosthodontist: See the replacement teeth specialist for your options -- the prosthodontist. Typically, immediate partial denture placement is planned. You must discuss this with the prosthodontist and the oral surgeon ahead of time to have it properly planned and carried out on the 'big day'. Good luck.

Not unusual: Depending upon the rest of your treatment plan, a temporary denture allows the tissue and bone to heal and keep the other teeth on either side from tipping inward and closing the space. When the permanent bridge, denture, etc. is made, it will be a lot more predictable in fit and looks.

Of course: Your dental professional may give you a temporary partial denture. Always ask before the procedure.
