If your dentist is : "lecturing" you - s/he is likely providing you with important information about how to protect/ safe guard your teeth. Consider "negatives " a way to let you know about areas you can improve on. A dentist who takes the time ; energy to "lecture" cares enough to do it. Sometimes we can receive real gifts even it we don't like the way they are wrapped. My advise is to buck up ; see your dentist!

Time to grow up: Responsibility. We're supposed to be responsible for our own actions. Believe it or not, your dentist is on your side. If you're being self-indulgent, irresponsible, don't expect miracles. Your dentist is trying to help you assume your rightful personal responsibility. Listen to your dentist. Take his well-meaning advice to heart. Preventive care is much more effective and less expensive.

Comfort: You should not feel scared or inhibited by your dr.S. Comfort is important. Seek out more than one dentist until you find one you are comfortable with. But know that the rest is up to you, take excellent care of teeth and gums.
