Periocoronitis: Inflammation of gum tissue surrounding a tooth is termed pericoronitis. Malocclusion may be a caused and grinding or occlusal adjustment is probably needed. If it occurs around a wisdom tooth, extraction will be a treatment of choice. Check with your dentist.
