Yes: Although root canal treatment can be over 90% effective new infection can occur due to the development of new decay around existing fillings. This "leakage" is the most common cause of problems. Symptoms of these problems are unlike the original thermal sensitivity that is frequently associated with endodontic infections. I suggest you see a local endodontist to evaluate your current condition.
