TMD/TMJ: Find the source: it could be a number of clinical problems that involve the chewing musculature, the TMJ and associated structures, or both. Find the cause: inflammatory, mechanical, rheumatic or collagen diseases. Apply treatment accordingly. In most cases the treatment is conservative and reversible (non-surgical). See tmd/tmj specialist.
