Take it easy: You have had a trauma to your head even though you did not lose consciousness. It may be a bone bruise or the covering of the shill has a lot of nerve endings. Just take it easy and don't do things that cause more pain or much head movement . If headaches, swelling, confusion or any negative changes occur, get back to the doctor. Another few days rest doesn't hurt either. Better to be safe.

Have you informed yo: I am sure your doctor has given you some guidance!
it does take 2-3 weeks to heal any soft tissue injury. If the symptoms persist or get any worse, your doctor will likely ask you to have an x-ray of the bone or a ct scan of the head. I would wait it out for few more days to see if it will improve on its own.

Head injury: It is not recommend to have scan after head injury if you had no loss of consciousness or confusion. Bone pain last between 4 weeks to 3 months.

Head injury: A contusion of the skull would leave a tender area for up to 2 weeks. Worrisome symptoms would include severe headaches, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, confusion or visual symptoms. With these, examination by brain ct scan would be indicated.
