Was CPAP: Recommended? If so, this would be important. Were there any weight loss recommendations ? Any recommendations about body posture during sleep? I would review all the recommendations made by the sleep medicine specialist. ; work toward compliance. Take care.

Ideally a CPAP: A CPAP machine is the Cadillac of treatment for mild sleep apnea (as well as many lifestyle changes- losing weight, change in diet, bed, pillows, exercise, etc.) If the CPAP is not tolerated, dental mouthpieces designed for sleep apnea work very well. Not over-the-counter or online purchased mouthpieces, though, since those mouthpieces may contribute to TMJ/TMD issues. Should be custom made

Lifestyle changes: and dental sleep appliance (mouthpiece) may relieve mild sleep apnea. No breathing devices (CPAP) or surgery in case of mild sleep apnea are recommended.

Sleep apnoea: Things that can make a big difference include: Losing some weight if you are overweight or obese. Not drinking alcohol for 4-6 hours before going to bed. Not using sedative drugs. Stopping smoking if you are a smoker. Sleeping on your side or in a semi-propped position. If these don't work CPAP machine is usually prescribed. http://patient.info/health/obstructive-sleep-apnoea-syndrome-leaflet
