Does neuroleptic induced akathisia go away on its own after stoping the meds or i should take meds for? if it go on its own how long does it take ?

It depends.: Akathisia will improve if the medication is stopped but this depends on the duration and dosage of the medication. If the akathisia is severe and affects the ability to function, it is best to take medications to control it. There are neuroleptic like seroquel, Fanapt (iloperidone) and Clozaril which causes the least amount of akathisia.
