No effect: A heel spur is a calcification of the attachment of the plantar fascia (on the bottom) or the achilles tendon (in the back). These are the result of long-term mechanical overuse and have nothing to do with calcium supplementation. The suprs themselves are responsible for pain in perhaps 1% of patients. Many people have large spurs with no pain and a great deal of pain, yet no spur.
