Sensitive to cinnamon, is there something i can do to make my mouth, gums, tongue and cheeks less sensitive to it?

What sensation?: If cinnamon bothers you, you should avoid it instead of trying to numb the body's response. It is not an essential food. Your body is telling you that you shouldn't be having it.

Recent change?: Cinnamon is an irritant to many oral tissues, but most people have an adequate supply of saliva to dilute and carry it away. At 75 years of age, you are at risk for decreasing salivary flow--especially if you take medications. (ditropan (oxybutynin) lists dry mouth as a possible side effect. Talk to your doctor about this possible interaction. Seek a dental evaluation for an explanation for other symptoms.
