Neuro consult: From this account it is difficult to make a diagnosis. It has to be determined where the origin is. It can be from the neck down, or the wrist like a carpal tunnel syndrome or other things like a radial nerve compression. The best is to see your doctor or a neurologist to determine the cause and the origin so it can be treated appropriately.

Hand pain will: Often travel or radiate up to but not past the elbow. Anything that causes hand or wrist pain can feel this way. Nerve compression associate with tingling the fingers, tendinitis associated with sharp pain with movement. Joint pain associated with certain positions or gripping. Of course not as simple as that and the source can actually be above the hand from your neck or shoulder if roots are affected see your pcp or see a hand surgeon.
