I have a small lump/ball under my skin on the shin above the ankle. i can move it around and it hurts a little bit. any ideas what this can be?

Soft tissue mass: Soft tissue mass should be evaluated when they become enlarged or are painful, clinical exam, imaging, and possible aspiration may be needed for definitive diagnosis. Pain may be associated with the proximity to the small sensory nerve in this area.

Ganglionic cyst: Most likely you have a ganglionic cyst.... However you should have it examined and maybe get an mri.
