Pneumonia: Not sure i understand "beginning stages of pneumonia". Either you have pneumonia or not. And without more info do not understand why the Prednisone was prescribed so it is difficult to comment on, but generally speaking there is little need for steroids in out-patient acquired pneumonia (assuming you have pneumonia). Too many unanswered questions. Discuss with your doctor, or get 2nd opinion.
