Would a doctor and pyschologist still be willing to keep a client who they have referred to a hospital for safety, or would they discharge the client?

That depends on the: Provider. I continue to see my patients after they have returned from a psychiatric admission. A provider might elect not to continue seeing the patient if they didn't believe that the services they provided were adequate to treat the patient safely.
