Hi doctor. my dad (73yrs) has had an op to plug an aneurysm on 21 october and was discharged from hospital yesterday. tonight he is complaining of feeling shivery and weak and has a nose bleed. is this normal or do we need to be concerned?

Yes: Please consult his doctor by phone. If that is not feasible, call your local emergency/causality department to get advice. If the symptoms worsen, especially if he gets fever, gets short of breath or has changes in mental state, take him to the hospital. Wish you and your father good health!

Shivery and weak : Feeling shivery and weak is often a sign of an infection. It is more reliable in my experience than a fever. See a doctor as soon as possible
