Possibilities: Is this joint pain? Is this soft tissue pain? Are the joints actually swollen? When do they hurt? What makes them worse and what makes them better? Always aching - do you mean all of these areas are at the same time all of the time? These are some of the things we need to know to better understand. Polyarthralgia: There are many different causes of polyarthralgia - multiple joint pain. These include, but not limited to: osteoarthritis, systemic rheumatic diseases (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis etc) spondyloarthropaties ( inflammatory bowel disease or reactive arthritis), endocrine diseases, cancers, gout or pseudogout, bacterial infections, viral infections or many other possible causes.
