Anytime: I hear the word "lump" i think it should be seen by a doctor. A lump always carries with it the risk there is some malignant process. (not to scare you - just trying to be prudent.)
there are many things that can be a lump, something as benign as a ganglionic cyst or a varicose vein but since you said "lump" the recommendation is to see a doctor.
