Immune/drug/hormonal: Acute polyarthritis can be part of a systemic activation of your immune system (rheumatologic or immunologic secondary to infection). Sometimes it can be part of symptom complex that may include GI problems (ex inflammatory bowel disease), or fluid collections in joints and other cavities in body. Check thyroid status, rheumatolic labs (connective tissue disease/gout). See your doctor.
