Yes and no: Irregular heart beats, depending on the nature (not simple pac's or pvc's) are risks for stroke, or syncope. You must have had a severe on as you had a pacemaker placed. If before the pacer, rhythm medicines have been tried or the problem was severe enough to warrant need for pacer, you will not be able to have it removed and do well with the problem under control.
