Arthritis.: Your mother possibly suffers from osteoarthritis, . Regardless of the cause she certainly does not need any surgery.

Yes: Hi craig, if she is healthy, but suffers from arthritis in one compartment, she is a candidate for a makoplasty partial knee replacement. If her x-ray shows one side of her knee worn down and the other side is not and she hurts on the worn side, i would consider fixing her if it hurts and is limiting her function. In my town, we have many 80 and 90 year olds that are active and get replacements.
