Topomax: What should you do? You should ask your doctor all the questions you need to, in order to make your decision. It also depends on how disturbed you are by your symptoms, and whether you want to manage them or not. If dosed very gradually and monitored carefully by your doctor, topamax (topiramate) can be a helpful aid in bipolar disorder.

Speak with your doc: You should discuss your concerns and fears w/ your doctor. You should ask him or her about the risks, side effects and benefits of treatment. You can also ask a pharmacist any questions you have about the medicine. In the end, it is your right to decide to start a med and consent or not consent to treatment w/ a med after having been given adequate information to your satisfaction.
