A member asked:

Can mri detect strokes and even prior strokes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRI and stroke: Yes, mri's are excellent studies which detect ischemia or deceased blood flow to the brain prior to the development of a stroke and the study is also excellent at identifying even small regions where strike may have occurred in the past. The test is the most sensitive test available for the evaluation of stroke throughout its development.
