Yes: Every MRI study and its interpretation are not 100% accurate. An MRI may also show certain types of stroke better or worse than other tests. The findings from the mri, other diagnostic tests, the timing and presence of symptoms and physical findings all need to be weighed by your doctor to answer to whether a new stroke occurred and, if so, when.
