Tenotomies: Or cutting of tendons are performed all the time. If you cut the flexor tendon the toe will be straight. You take away the ability of the toe to plantarflex or curl down, but it doesn't affect your walking....People do just fine when the toes don't flex....

Tenotomy: As stated, tendon releases are done all the time for that pathology. Work with your physician. Good luck.
