Not to worry: A lone lymph node less then 1 cm in size that is stable for 4 months with no features on ct that concerned the radiologist is not a problem. The fact that it goes up and down is a good thing. Lymph nodes do not go away. We just notice them when they are big and or tender. Occipital nodes are against the bone and are more noticeable. We can also irritate them by checking them too much.

No worries: We all have occipital lymph nodes and they swell in response to irritation in the area so it may indeed go up and down. The ct shows it is not a problem, so you can relax and not worry.
