I left florida for a week to nyc to a prominent cancer facility. was given a referral for a ct with contrast for carcinoid tumor. this is not cancer but behaves like it. do i show referral to my pcp or make my first contact with a medical oncologist?

I think this depends on your insurance. If you need a referral from your PCP in order for your insurance to pay for the CT scan, then get the referral. I’m sure your PCP won’t mind giving you this referral. Call your insurance company to find out if a referral from your PCP is needed or not. Better to find out than end up with a bill. Good luck!
