Pain: Some men may have pain or discomfort with hydroceles and varicoceles, but most are asymptomatic. Nothing to worry about. Ibuprofen may help.

Should not be: Hydrocele is usually a painless condition, there might be some discomfort, or even pain if hydrocele is compressed during sex. This would be good indication to consult a urologist. Same applies to varicocele which sometimes causes discomfort when subject is erect & pain during sex caused by varicocele would be very unusual & thus warrant consultation with a urologist.
