Though not : A prominent side effect it can happen both as an adverse reaction from the medication, but also from a rapid change in your blood sugar which is unusual but occurs. Discuss with the prescribing doctor as this sounds severe for you.

Metformin dizziness: Metformin is a great medication for pcos for many reasons. However, when initiating metformin side effects can include nausea, dizziness and balance issues. These usually resolve after a few weeks. If they persist, consider talking to your doctor about lowering the dose. Don't stop taking it without talking with your doctor first.

Not usually: Metformin is one of the safest and most common medications available today. The most common side effects are stomach and abdominal discomfort. Still, you could be experiencing an unusual sensitivity to it. You could try stopping for several days to see if there is any change in symptoms. Check with your doctor first.
