ATFL only: The procedure is limited exposure.

Yes: The atfl is the most commom ligament that is torn followed by the calcaneo-fibular ligament . At the time of the brostrom repair the doc can check or actually visualize whether or not the cfl needs to be repaired as well. Pre-op stress tests and or an MRI can give the surgeon a heads up as well. Often arhtroscopy is performed during ligament repair esp if there is pain.
