Dentist ; Doctors: Because teeth, jaw joints, ear, sinus, nose, etc., ---all these are in a complex relationship, it is not possible to diagnose on what is going on about your condition. However, if you experience left jaw ache every time you catch a cold, there might be chronic inflammation present in or near the nose, sinus, and/or ear canals... Even a bad tooth that you are unaware of. See both doctors ; dentist.

Ear vs TMJ: Likely TMJ, but since associated with URI, could be ear infection. See oral surgeon or ENT during symptoms for diagnosis.
