Not as good: A "bite plate" is likely a night guard or occlusal splint, which only covers teeth much shallower than a sports guard does. For an impact sports like hockey, a bite plate will not be sufficient in protecting your teeth.

Probably Not: A "bite plate" covers the upper teeth or the lower teeth, depending on the philosophy of the treating dentist. It does not offer protection to both dental arches or the lips. I would recommend using a specific mouth guard designed for sports.

No : Bite pleats is designed to protect the chewing surfaces of your teeth to keep them from wearing excessively and unevenly. Mouth guard designed to protect your teeth from fracture, your gums from trauma and lacerations, and to prevent concussions. They are made of different materials, are shaped differently, and have different functions. Check this out with your Dentist.
