Abscess?: It is not uncommon to suffer pain due to an irreversible pulpits, i.e. Abscessed tooth if the teeth that support the bridge had previous fillings or crowns or required a lot of cutting down for the bridge. If you have constant pain, pain to hot, cold or chewing pressure an abscess is likely the cause. Also you need to be flossing under the bridge 3x/day.

Should not be: See Prosthodontist for evaluation and diagnosis and treatment. You have one of the best Dental Schools in the world right there in Baltimore if you run out of options for evaluation. Not normal and requires evaluation. May need root canal therapy on support teeth, bite adjustment, etc. Get in to see the Specialist. Good Luck.

More info needed...: Pain in the gingival tissue? Pain on the teeth? Is the pain constant, or only with sweets or cold? Many possibilities. Please have your restorative dentist re-evaluate the bridge.

Visit your dentist: If this pain is not getting better, or the area feels sore to bite on, you should contact your dentist for evaluation. This is not normal.
