Risk based: Generally if your having active problems or have had recent problems you want frequent check ups. 1-2x each year. If your risk for dental problems is elevated because of medications, digestive problems, health problems , you may want to consider 2x a year minimum if not 3-4x until you know that the cavities and gum problems are controlled and not going to get worse. Treat underlying problems.

2x year: This is the average for most people. Some people require more frequent visits due to underlying periodontal issues. Your dentist can best advise what works best for you.

Depends: 2x/year is right for most people. If your dentist feels you are having an infection (tooth or gum) problem, more frequent visits, or alternating visits w a periodontist, may be recommended. We recommend 4x/year for our orthodontic patients because of difficulty cleaning around the braces.

Twice a year: In normal situations with healthy teeth and gums. But for people under periodontal care or maintainance , or others under active dental treatment the case is different , you should follow your dentist directions.
