Carson : Carson city, they may be referring to scaling and root planing which is treatment for periodontal disease (gum disease) and usually includes irrigation (an anti-microbial rinse). But, my best advice is to talk with you dentist prior to your scheduled appointment. You should understand their recommendation, why they are making it, and what is the anticipated outcomes with or without treatment. Hope this is helpful, michael i. This the gum tissue, epitheilum attach back to the root surface. Good luck and keep brushing and flossing. Dr. James w. Dunnavant, jr., dds 1-800-veneers.Com.
