Cleaning: Bleeding gums are a sign that your gums are infected. This is usually due to compromise oral hygiene not braces position. Run, don't walk, to your dentist for a professional cleaning. Then go to you orthodontist for specific cleaning instructions to prevent further damage.

Hygiene: Gum tissue reacts quickly to braces when patients don't remove plaque from around the braces (or they don't keep it clean enough). One of the most sensitive areas to hygiene is lower front area. Basicaly when you as the patient don't remove bacteria, your body does. Body uses blood to clean things up and that is why the gums swell up and get closer to braces. To fix, brush that area & get a cleani
