Takes time: Root canal therapy removes all nerves and blood vessels within the tooth. However, the nerves are still present right outside the opening of root tip. This nerve connects the tooth and the brain, and will be present forever. If your infection was very deep, and this nerve was also infected beyond tooth, it will take a long time for the outside-the-tooth nerve to heal. Report to your dentist.
